VI-accessible singing workshops at St Clare House starting March 2018
We are thrilled to have teamed up with Life With Art to offer six weeks of accessible singing workshops for blind and sighted participants.
What? Fully accessible singing workshops led by Unscene Suffolk’s Musical Director Amy Mallett. Songs will be learnt by ear and distributed in large print or audio format. It is hoped that the group will continue in some form after the initial six weeks, and will be involved in a performance this summer.
When? Tuesdays afternoons 2-4pm, from 27 March to 1 May 2018
Where? St Clare House, Princes Street, Ipswich IP1 1LX . The venue is five minutes walk from Ipswich Town Centre and ten minutes from the railway station. Our volunteers can meet you from local buses and trains.
How much? The sessions are free thanks for the generous support of Life With Art and the Ipswich Building Society. Donations are welcome.
Next steps? To book a place or for more information please contact Amy on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07748 070647.
In autumn 2017 we piloted a series of VI-accessible singing workshops, led by Amy Mallett and supported by DanceEast, who hosted us at the Jerwood Dance House.
The project was very successful and the group showcased their work publicly on 8 December at the launch event for the East Anglian Children’s Hospice Lantern Parade. Check out our highlights video above!
